Notice on Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance
- BOCI pledges to meet fully recognized standards of personal data privacy protection in complying with the requirements of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (“Ordinance”). Any personal Data given by you to this website (“Personal Information”) will be used, disclosed or transferred in accordance to the services rendered / to be rendered by you and, in the absence of your consent, will not be used for other purposes.

The purposes for which the Personal Information may be used include:

Personal Information will be kept confidential but BOCI may provide such Personal Information to:
- any agent, contractor or service provider who provides administrative, telecommunications, computer, payment or other services to it in connection with its business operations;

- to check whether BOCI holds Personal Information relating to yours and the right to access such Personal lnformation;
- to request BOCI to cease using your Personal Information for direct marketing purposes;
- to require BOCI to correct any Personal Information relating to yours which is inaccurate; and
- to ascertain BOCI’s policies and practices in relation to Personal Information and to be informed of the kind of Personal Information held by it.

BOCI’s policies and practices in relation to Personal Information are set out below:
- Personal Information will be collected and used only for purposes relating to the provision of services and products by BOCI;
- BOCI will take reasonably practicable steps to ensure that Personal Information:
- is accurate;
- will not be kept longer than is necessary for fulfillment of the purposes for which it was to be used unless otherwise required or permitted by law;
- will be protected against unauthorized or accidental use, access, processing or erasure;
- Personal Information may be collected over the Internet by using "cookies". A "cookie" is a computer file in a person’s web browser on which his identification data is stored to avoid the need of inputting it every time he visits a site which he has visited before. The identification data of a person stored on a "cookie" can be retrieved by BOCI when such person visits this Site. You may change your browser setting to disable a "cookie".

In accordance with the terms of the Ordinance, BOCI has the right to charge a reasonable fee for the processing of any request to access Personal Information.
